Here's some of the things the Boosters do!
Provide annual scholarships to graduating students who participate in WHS Athletics and exhibit commitment, sportsmanship, teamwork, and community pride.
Support field and facility improvements, like trophy cases in the senior cafeteria, equipment storage sheds, auxiliary/practice field maintenance, and painting tasks.
Support organizations that honor our star athletes, alumni, and coaches like the Frederick Soccer Hall of Fame and FCPS Senior All Star Games.
Looking for snacks during a game? Our concession stand has been modernized! Our boosters organize inventory, place orders, manage sales activities, train volunteers, and maintain the equipment.
Need to show your school spirit? We make sure the Spirit Shed is loaded with good stuff!
Provide administrative support to help each individual sport to manage their fundraising accounts – more than 20 of them!
Keep athletes, alumni, families, and fans up-to-date with posts on social media highlighting daily events, athletes and alums in the news, and important fundraising efforts.
Don't forget the paperwork! We prepare and submit the tax documentation that ensures our nonprofit status, secure the permits that allow us to hold raffles and conduct fundraising, work with the health department to make sure our concession stand remains safe and up-to-code, and manage individual team bank accounts as well as the overall Boosters bank account.
